  3. SHAREWARE
  4. Atoms, Bonding and Structure is Shareware ('try before you buy software'). If you 
  5. wish to continue using it after a 30 day trial, you must register (pay for) it.
  6.  
  7. OVERVIEW
  8. A unique interactive Multimedia Chemistry Tutor which tests students as they learn 
  9. (it uses the internal speaker if you don't have a soundcard). As far as possible, 
  10. skills are taught through familiar examples, to help reinforce general chemical 
  11. knowledge. New concepts are taught by frequent reference to the online Periodic
  12. Tables. The eight units are: Elements, Compounds and Mixtures; Forming Compounds;
  13. Atomic Structure; Chemical Bonds; Ionic Bonding; Covalent Bonding; Structure of 
  14. Materials; Bond Energies. Companion program to 'Atom's, Symbols and Equations'.

  16. OPTIONS
  17. There is an option to 'trap' the user within a unit once started (to help 
  18. teachers ensure that pupils stay on task), with a password required to exit. 
  19. The decision whether to trap users and the password can be changed by running 
  20. the program 'options.exe'(click on the 'Change Options' icon in the  'Atoms
  21. Bonding & Structure' group or folder). There is also an option to provide answers.

  23. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  24. Almost any computer running Windows 3.1/95/98 (PC 386 or above, 4mb ram, vga/svga 
  25. monitor).

  27. INSTALLATION
  28. Simply run the installation program "setup.exe". During installation follow on
  29. screen instructions and answer 'yes' to any queries unless you have good reason.

  31. That's it!  The program is now fully installed and ready for use.

  33. RUNNING THE PROGRAM
  34. Win 3.1: Run the program by clicking on the 'Atoms, Bonding & Structure' icon in the
  35. Atoms, Bonding & Structure group which will be on your desktop.
  36. Win95/98: From the start menu, select programs and then the Atoms, Bonding & Structure
  37. folder. Then select the 'Atoms, Bonding & Structure' icon to run the program.

  39. UNINSTALLATION 
  40. To completely remove the program from your computer:
  41.  
  42. 1. Click the icon 'Uninstall Icons' to remove the program icons
  43.    from program manager or the programs folder.
  44.     
  45. 2. From file manager or explorer, delete the program directory (provided you 
  46.    haven't placed other programs or files in this folder/directory). The default 
  47.    folder is 'c:\Bonding'.

  51. implied warranties. I have run the programs on a number of machines but cannot
  52. possibly anticipate all possible variations of software and hardware that the
